"Shifting weather and light conditions constantly change the appearance and character of any landscape; though the Three Sisters is a familiar scene, it can look different from one minute to the next. The trio of peaks forms a naturally stable composition, making clouds and light appear to move faster and more dramatically by contrast. I have made a departure from natural colour, instead choosing warm golds and amber and complimentary violet to capture the sun’s warmth and cooler shadows. The foreground of trees takes on the appearance of an audience basking in stage light enjoying the spectacle."
