Born in Vancouver, John Ogilvy has been painting for more than thirty years. His paintings incorporate elements that exist in every day scenes offering the viewer a glimpse of the beauty that adorns modern landscapes. While John's paintings often do not depict a specific place, he manages to conjure up familiar views and feelings by using memories and past experiences as insipiration. John travels a fair amount accumulating ideas until he gets the opportunity to translate those ideas into a canvas at his studio on Gabriola Island in B.C.
