This exhibition showcases a small selection of early works by Katie Ohe and Harry Kiyooka. Married since 1969, this iconic artistic couple have spent the last six decades making art, teaching and fostering the Alberta arts community. In 2007, they set up the Kiyooka Ohe Arts Centre with the intention of leaving their land (20 acres in Springbank), home, studios, arts library and their art collection (which includes not only their own artwork but the couple’s excellent collection of top Canadian and International Post-War and Contemporary artists) to the centre. Opening on 24 January 2020, the upcoming solo exhibition on Katie Ohe at Esker Foundation will be the most comprehensive survey of her work to date.The Esker exhibition will include a monograph and documentary on Katie.
