Ken Gillespie, "Lake O'Hara Morning," nd
acrylic on canvas, 18" x 24"
Ken Gillespie was born in Vancouver in 1948 and spent most of his life in Calgary. He currently lives in the Okanagan.
Ken has been a full time professional artist for many years and is a senior signature member (S.F.C.A.) of the Federation of Canadian Artists. He has done many solo shows in top Canadian galleries and his works are in private and public collections around the world.
With respect to his work, Ken notes, "My artwork is about colour, shape and texture, but above all, an expression of beauty—subject becoming irrelevant, each painting having a life of its own, each stroke leading to the next. It is more to me about the connection of body and spirit to canvas, over mind to canvas."
