"Landscape Love Affair is a love letter to the beauty of our natural world. In an attempt to capture the sense of calm and wonder one feels in nature, I’ve created a collection of modern landscapes that aims to soothe and inspire. Bold colours, loose brushstrokes, and layered silhouettes depict the majesty of the rocky mountains, the tranquillity of the ocean, the expansive beauty of the prairies, and the verticality of the forest. While some paintings were inspired by photographs I’ve taken over the past year, most are imagined or suggested landscapes. I’m interested in the ways the paint moves across the surface, allowing the drips, splatter, and painterly happenings to influence the direction of the painting. Distilling the landscape to its most basic forms, this body of work is my interpretation of the world around me."
