Under the dark cover of a new moon join CSIF - The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers and Truck Contemporary Art in Calgary for a night of sinister cinema in Royal Sunalta Park (located next to the Scarboro Community Association and the Calgary Tennis Club)!
At sundown, we will be screening the short film YOU ARE A LESBIAN VAMPIRE, directed by Thirza Cuthand, followed by the 1977 Japanese horror fantasy HOUSE, directed by Nobuhiko Obayashi. This event is free and open to all members of the public; bike in, chill out, and get spooked!
YOU ARE A LESBIAN VAMPIRE (2008) - Thirza Cuthand, 3 min
In the dark night of a prairie city, a vampire considers her future with a fetching mortal. But requiring blood for sustenance brings a host of problems to the relationship.
Starring Shavonne Somvong and Carrie Gates
HOUSE (1977) - Nobuhiko Obayashi, 88 min, 18A
In an effort to avoid spending time with her father and his new lover, young Gorgeous (Kimiko Ikegami) resolves to visit her aunt's remote mansion. With six of her closest friends in tow, including the musically inclined Melody (Eriko Tanaka) and the geeky Prof (Ai Matsubara), Gorgeous arrives at the estate, where supernatural events occur almost immediately. A severed head takes flight, household appliances come to life and a portrait of a cat seems to contain an evil spirit.
