Lindsay McIntyre "WHERE WE STAND"
"WHERE WE STAND" is a haunting portrait of theaters shot on handmade 16mm iodo-bromide emulsion. With a strong commitment to retaining the language of film, Lindsay McIntyre's compelling project takes a hard look at the fragile future of films made on film in the digital age.
About the Artist:
Lindsay McIntyre is a film artist and creator from Edmonton, Alberta and is the visiting artist for the 24th annual $100 Film Festival. Specializing in analogue film work that emphasizes documentary, experimental, and handmade techniques, her work has been shown at national and international festivals and venues. Her short films and performances circle themes of portraiture, place, and form. Her current filmic obsessions involve handmade emulsion and all kinds of chemical manipulation of celluloid.
"WHERE WE STAND" is presented in partnership with the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers' $100 Film Festival, running February 25 - 27th at Arts Commons' Engineered Air Theatre.
