Linus Woods: Mostly Horses And A Few Rabbits An Exhibition of New Works
Opening reception: Saturday, October 23 ARTIST IN ATTENDANCE
“Mostly Horses and a few Rabbits, that’s the view out my window.
These are my companions on the Long Plains Reserve. I never feel alone when I look out the window and the horses grazing. They are holy to my people, sacred. Many years ago we honoured them by painting their faces, to give thanks for their friendship.
My other friends are the rabbits, full of whimsy and character. I like painting rabbits, they make me laugh. They are jokers and tricksters. One night, I looked out my window to a light that streamed to one spot on the ground. Like magic, a rabbit came running and stopped right in the center of the light. It turned slowly, it looked right at me, it was eerie.” - Linus Woods
