HOW WE LEAD
Artists: Lucie Chan, Justin Langlois
Artist Facilitator: Jill Banting
This participatory exhibition involves two artists interpreting the statement “How We Lead” to ask larger questions about: civic engagement and the arts; social well-being; leadership and community building. Members of the public will be invited to free community workshops with local partners to ponder ideas of leadership for themselves.
With funding from the British Columbia Arts Council, the Province of British Columbia, and the City of Campbell River.
How We Lead - Youth Workshop with Justin Langlois: Part 1
Dates: Thursday, October 22 (part 1) and November 3 (part 2)
Time: 5:00p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Location: Online
Cost: Free
In this two-part workshop, the questions become the object and the focus of our creativity, providing youth the ability to ask questions about where we live and how we live. To support this, we will provide a space of understanding that we don’t need to have all the answers for all the questions we have in this current, ever changing environment. We will explore how we can live in the question.
Across two workshops, participants will have the opportunity to work with Justin to explore text as an artistic form, to develop critical and engaged inquiries into issues impacting the broader community, and develop a set of questions that can be included in the exhibition. These questions included in the installation will focus on the ideas, issues, and hopes participants have in shaping the future.
Workshops are open to youth ages 15 to 25. To register online, visit our website here.
