This series of city boats, sculptures and pottery is inspired by the cities Mariana Sola has lived in and visited.
At first Mariana focused on capturing her wishes from all the places she has been. It has now evolved to include nature and people that inspire her. At times the vessels are empty to encourage the viewers to fill them with their own ideas and dreams.
Mariana Sola has a B.F.A. from the University of National Arts in Buenos Aires Argentina. She works predominately with acrylic painting and clay sculptures. She is drawn to Raku firing and the fragility of the cracks and strong metallic colours.
