Maureen Babb: Glacial Melt
The world is changing rapidly around us. Global temperatures rise and facilitate disaster. Species are pushed towards extinction through habitat loss. Economically and emotionally driven denial of these realities by many lead to feelings of helplessness, anxiety, and loss in others. With a collection of works in an array of media, Glacial Melt explores the anxiety of a physical world in flux, and the love of the natural world.
Exhibition Bio: Maureen is an artist who works in a wide range of media; pen and ink illustration, digital artwork, photography, alcohol inks, and jewellery-making primary amongst them. She is inspired by nature, history, and curiosity.
When the pandemic hit Manitoba forcing galleries and businesses to close, Maureen Babb's Exhibition, "Glacial Melt" was the first exhibition cancelled. Now rescheduled for July 9 to July 21, the gallery will be open to the public July 9, 12 noon through to July 21, 6pm for regular gallery hours, Tuesday to Friday, 12-6pm; Saturday 12-5pm
