Around the World in Clay is a group exhibition, created by members of the Medicine Hat Potter's Association.
Presented with the theme 'Around the World in Clay: An Exploration of Culture', artists have embraced the world around them, to discover what this prompt means to them. Some artists dug into history, learning that their own ancestors created ancient functional ware, while others learned techniques and embraced influence through travel and exploration of our world.
You will find work in this show guided by the earth we walk on, the human influence beyond our atmosphere, and perhaps even a touch of the underworld.
The pottery club has been preparing for the past year to bring you this show, which exhibits diverse approaches to working with clay, and interpreting the theme.
