Mixed Narratives - Casa Gallery

Mixed Narratives brings together the artistic practices of three visual artists living in the Crowsnest Pass: Tony Partridge, Yurek Panek and Debbie Goldstein. Their work reflects personal and worldviews dealing with the ironic, the tragic and the comic elements of the human condition.

Partridge’s narrative exploration on paper will look at Dante’s Divine comedy with its division of the Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso to reflect and comment on contemporary social, environmental and cultural absurdities and their often ironic and tragic consequences.

Panek’s 2D works reflect his often surrealistic, but definitively ironic, humorous and dry observations of the existential and angst ridden alienation of individual experience in the vacuum of contemporary life.

Goldstein explores the rich vein of individual internal subconscious drives and their connections to the broader collective unconscious sphere of culturally derived imagery and visual archetypes through the use of pottery and clay.
