National Indigenous Day 2021
Join us in celebrating the cultures of Canada's Indigenous peoples! We invite you view this curated collection by Terry McCue, Allen Sapp, Jane Ash Poitras, Alex Janvier, Bill Henderson, Stewart Steinhauer and many Inuit carvers and graphic artists.
To honour and cherish the Indigenous People of Canada, we are proud to share the works of our Indigenous artists. We recognize the many achievements of the country’s Indigenous peoples and celebrate the distinct cultures and uniqueness of the Inuit, Northwest Coast, Plains, Woodland, Métis and all Indigenous people. We acknowledge their traditional lands since we are located within them: the Treaty of 1877, Treaty Seven, and the Treaty of 1895 between the salmon and buffalo peoples. There is deep and enduring memory of this valley held by Ktunaxa (too-naa-xha), Secwepemc (sha-whep-mak, or Shuswap), Métis, Dene & Tsu T'ina, Mountain Cree, Siksika & Blackfoot, and Stoney Nakoda peoples.
