New works by Chris Cran, with a selection of works from his exhibition Sincerely Yours at the National Gallery of Canada in 2016.
Chris Cran is a Calgary-based artist, but in Salmon Arm, BC he is known as a local boy who made it big. Now, residents of his home town will get a chance to see Cran’s work in their own local gallery. Salmon Arm Art Gallery will feature new and well-known works by Cran in September of 2017, including several new pieces from his “Sincerely Yours” solo exhibition at the National Gallery of Canada in 2016.
“It’s absolutely our honour to host this exhibition,” says Director/Curator Tracey Kutschker. “I wanted to give our community a chance to spend some time with Chris’ work. His pieces play on illusion and perception, so it will challenge our visitors, and perhaps leave them wondering what story lies beyond the image.”
Cran will be at the gallery on August 31 to offer a preview of the exhibition and talk about his work.
