Ningiukulu Teevee: Drawings
to
Inuit Gallery of Vancouver 120 Carrie Cates Court, North Vancouver, British Columbia V7M 0G7
Ningiukulu Teevee has become one of the most well-known and recognizable of the Cape Dorset graphic artists. Our many collectors know that her work is always inventive and often mischievous, peppered with hidden figures, visual puns and reflections of her humorous take on the world. She is well versed in Inuit legends and traditional stories, and her work often features figures from these stories including the sea goddess Sedna (Nuliajuaq), Owl and Raven, Fox Woman and others. The newest collection includes a marvelous drawing of Raven making a beautiful dress for her friend Loon, a bemused walrus finds shaman has given it caribou antlers for tusks, a snowy owl reviews her photos from a trip to America, and a smitten owl bringing a flower to the object of his affection.
We invite you to enjoy these wonderful new original drawings.
