O Canada 150” by Victoria artist Timothy Wilson Hoey has received national press prior to it’s first opening in Victoria. The exhibition will be travelling across the West over the next 6 months, stopping briefly at Elevation Gallery on Family Day weekend, February 18th. The artist will be here, signing copies of the book that was produced about the show. Considering that some of Canada’s most loved musicians (Jann Arden) wrote forwards for the book, we are expecting a few entertainment surprises on the day.
“O Canada 150” celebrates Canada’s 150th birthday featuring 150 paintings (completed in just 87 days) of iconic and not so iconic Canadiana. Think HRH Queen Elisabeth in a Rush TShirt! The work can be both classic and nostalgic, or downright wacky. Elevation Gallery has been featuring Tim in our Canada Day celebrations for 8 years now, and we have fostered some mad collectors.
