Jane paints exclusively plein air, which allows her an emotional connection with her subject matter. 

She is intrigued by the energy, the poetry of light, and enjoys painting her reaction to the scene, rather than copying it. In pursuit of achieving the balance between reality and her impressionistic interpretation of it, she leaves some mystery for the viewers to use their imagination to fill in the missing pieces.
