日常用品/EVERYDAY THINGS is a year-long public art project by Paul Wong at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden (578 Carrall St), commissioned by the City of Vancouver. Over the next year the Garden window will feature 3 large scale collages constructed from vintage children’s Chinese flashcards from the 1970s and antique English language books from 1957 and 1892. Each flashcard depicts an everyday thing in pictorial form, Chinese script, Pinyin (Romanized English system for standardized Chinese in Mandarin), and English.
