The Kamloops Art Gallery presents Tob Tob Kin, a new body of work by Paula Ducharme, a recent Thompson Rivers University Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate. Ducharme’s abstract wall hangings are inspired by her mixed cultural heritage as a Birdtail Sioux First Nations and settler artist. This new work draws upon Lakota stories and natural materials sourced from Lakota territory, Ducharme’s homelands in Manitoba. Leather, feathers, fur, and traditional beadwork techniques come together in wall hangings that tell the Lakota story of creation and its ongoing evolution. Admission to viewTob Tob Kin in The Cube is free for all visitors.
