Philip Kanwischer, "Taking a Stand," 2019

After a very successful solo exhibition at The Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies in Banff this winter/spring 2019, Philip Kanwischer's fine art photography is now on display at The Edge Gallery CANMORE to July 3rd. 

Philip spends many hours in the wilderness accumulating a multitude of wildlife photographs.  He combines images through a lengthy process using digital manipulation and the bonding of photographs to create a visual tension for the viewer. 

As Philip explains, "the goal of my work is to embody otherworldly interspecies scenarios, creating a commentary on our current climate and the othering of our animal counterparts." 

Philip Kanwischer graduated with a BFA from the Alberta College of Art and Design (with distinction) and received a MFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in May 2019.
