Glenbow and Chinook Blast, "project prōjekt," 2021
Co-presented by Glenbow Museum and Pollock Creative, project prōjekt is a local initiative to enlist Calgary artists and designers to create uplifting, galvanizing symbols to spark discussion and inspire a sense of community.
We received over 500 submissions by local artists. 60 artworks were selected by a jury for their ability to communicate a clear message and evoke emotion without explanation. These works are daring, loving, hopeful and compelling. More than half of the selected artists are under age 35.
The results will be unveiled during the upcoming Chinook Blast festival, running over three weekends: Feb 11-14, 19-21 and 26-28. The 60 artworks will be projected on Glenbow’s building, creating a larger-than-life outdoor exhibition that can be enjoyed at a safe social distance (for free)! Projections will run every night of the festival from 6-10pm.
