Raven’s Treasures
November 13 - December 31
Ravens love sparkling, shiny things – and truly, who doesn’t? While this year’s jewelry collection features work by some of our favourite artists, such as Lyle Wilson, Gus Cook, Corey Moreas, Allyson Simmie, and Andrew Williams, we are highlighting the work of two jewelers, Haisla artist Hollie Bear Bartlett and Haida artist Walter Davidson.
Hollie's work is inspired by traditional Northwest Coast designs and motifs, often incorporating gemstone accents and gold overlay into her designs. Hollie's work is always elegant yet contemporary in feel, making her pieces suitable for both special occasions and everyday wear. Among the available pieces are Hollie’s lovely Hummingbird bracelet, whaletail belt buckle and her domecut raven earrings where she has split the image of the raven across the two earrings.
Influenced by the work of his great-great-great-grandfather, Charles Edenshaw, Walter Davidson’s attention to detail and exacting style remain true to the tradition of Haida art. His works are highly intricate while remaining graceful and dynamic, displaying great skill and a deep appreciation for the artistic tradition of his people. Walter’s work includes his lovely Ravens Bracelet that incorporates three roundels containing raven imagery, a spectacular gold wrap ring or his silver octopus bracelet with gold overlay.
