An exhibition of Deon and Kathy Venter's small paintings, sculptures and pottery produced during the COVID isolation period.
This time of contemplation allowed Kathy to explore the boundaries of figurative sculpture in these expressionistic, abstracted, small, glazed pieces retaining the essence and scale of humanity. The work includes a revisit of her highly acclaimed Immersion Series.
At the start of COVID, on impulse, Deon bought a pottery wheel - the first kiln load, titled Off the Mount, will be on exhibit.
New small paintings - inspired by Hakeme, Korean and Japanese pottery will accompany this exhibition.
During the ’70’s and ’80’s Deon’s ceramics and pottery were exhibited in South Africa, France and Chile. Some of his award winning work is included in the collection of the National Gallery of South Africa. During this period Deon and Kathy fired their ceramics in a two chambered, downdraft, wood fired kiln.
New works in this exhibition are excluded from the coupon offer above.
