Richelle Osborne Bio
This Manitoba born restauranteur started her art career in a damp, dusty back room in her home in Oak Bay. Combining various woods on cradle panels, her abstract art was originally meant to fill the walls of her bistro on Oak Bay Avenue, a local destination for people in need of good food and personal service. Blighty's Bistro has been under Richelle's command for the past 21 years, and for the past three of those, the walls have been adorned with her art. With many of her pieces being displayed in local businesses and homes in Victoria, Richelle has created a name for herself within the community, and it is hard to miss spotting one of her paintings hanging within view through an Oak Bay window. Her art reflects her colourful approach to life with Mondrian inspired colour blocking and a three dimensional twist.
David Smith Bio
Victoria artist David Smith had found his way of translating memories of subtle skyscapes to expression. With a focus on the understated splendor between earth and sky, the simple magnificence of a horizon is captured in a mix of found wood, canvas and acrylic. These paintings are not an attempt to capture a moment in time, but rather an invitation to the viewer to participate in what came before and what will transpires after. Here is a humble attempt to express natures daily birth of light, colour, motion, tranquility and most often unfathomable beauty. David has lived in Victoria for over thirty years and takes much inspiration from the sweeping views of the Salish Sea.
