Visual artist Sharon Doherty announces that the Iron Horse Gallery, located at 2118 20th St Nanton, Alberta, is now open to the general public. The gallery operates Thursday-Sunday 11 am-4 pm or by appointment only and features some of her best works and that of other artists, from the In Residence Program the gallery hosts.
Guests, art lovers, tourists, and adventurers are welcomed to come and enjoy the works of the expressionist artist and experience her passion, talent, and desire. From watercolour still life to modern art, visitors can view a variety of works from a variety of artists, all of them available for purchase.
"The Iron Horse Gallery will rotate through various curations of my work and also feature work from several artists from our In Residence Program," said Sharon Doherty." "The art gallery pays homage to the previous store here 'Iron Horse Antiques' as a gesture, acknowledgment, and respect to the community and history of Nanton which I am so excited to be part of.”
Sharon Doherty artistic ability came from a place of healing and self expression and has been creating for more than 3 decades. Her work has caught the attention of several galleries in Victoria, and now her dream of opening a gallery has come true. Over the years Sharon’s work has diversified. She hopes the gallery will become an essential part of the Nanton community where people will meet, connect, network, learn, and get inspired.
Apart from selling art, The Iron Horse Art Gallery celebrates artists. The "In Residence Program" provides artists space to create and get their work featured. Participants also get access to experienced sales staff, paraphernalia for customers and visitors, and live art shows. The gallery will also host youth programs that aim to celebrate the journey of artistry and provide mentorship and direction.
