A Tale of the Land, Simone Guo’s latest exhibition to debut at Visualspace Gallery, explores her love of the natural world. Her abstract and representational landscapes of the North-West Coast of America also have strong traditional Chinese art influences, making Guo’s style instantly unique and recognizable.
She said, “Landscapes are one of the most popular genres in Chinese art, one that I feel a huge affinity for, because I love nature; from the awe-inspiring mountains, to tiny little trees, and living in British Columbia for the last twenty years means that I am surrounded by so much natural West Coast beauty, that I can’t help but paint it.”
The exhibition A Tale of the Land is open to the public, and Visualspace Gallery follows strict COVID-19 protocols. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation and current health orders, there will not be an opening for the exhibition. However, Guo will be available to discuss her work with interested patrons by appointment.
