"The body of work that I am currently producing involves a landscape with subtly rendered integrated geometric elements. This technical concept for me defines the beauty of nature and it's perfect architecture, and how that is recognized as accurate structure. The Architect in this natural world has designed a perfect image within the landscape. I enjoy creating awkwardness with the shapes , and how they simultaneously interrupt and compliment. My intent is to underline the dichotomy of organic imagery and geometry, and how they settle into a unique juxtaposition within our perception of the land.” - Marcia Harris

The paintings in the series entitled “The In Between” are technically pristine; renderings of familiar land elements evoking a hazy quiet. The viewer is lulled by soft lines and colour palette, and yet architectural interruptions are rising from the land, just beyond view.
