The Edge Gallery CALGARY and CANMORE will be open on Saturday October 10th of the holiday weekend.
This is the last week to visit us at The Edge Gallery CALGARY as we permanently close our doors on November 30th.
The Edge Gallery Calgary is proud to showcase a monumental group exhibition "The Last Picture Show”. This exhibition is the crescendo of the talents in our roster of artists.
The Edge Gallery has had the privilege of working with a broad range of artists. This show features work from Barbara Ballachey, Scot Bullick, Diane Colwell, Michael Corner, Robert Dmytruk, Joan Dunkley, Terry Fenton, David Foxcroft, Gwen Frank, Jan Kabatoff, Philip Kanwischer, Chloe Kinsella, Janet Lowry, Chris Malloy, Billy McCarroll, Barbara Milne, David More, Kate Mountford, Ted Rinkel, Jeffrey Spalding, Kristine Zingeler and Judith Zinkan.
To speak to a few works, the contemporary assemblages of Kristine Zingeler and David Foxcroft take mixed media collage to new and interesting places, treading the line between abstraction and representation. While David More, Terry Fenton and Barbara Milne bring different palettes, gestures, moods and scales to their sublime landscape paintings. The mastery of all these artists in their given fields is truly astounding.
There are picturesque paintings, intimate prints, conceptual photographs and the raw materiality of sculptural work. The curation of this exhibition is complimentary yet diverse, there will be something for everyone in what is becoming our grand finale in Inglewood.
There will be no opening reception for this exhibition but we invite you to join us at the gallery between September 5th - October 15th to soak up the vibrancy of this collection of works.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that FrameCo and The Edge Gallery will be closing in Inglewood on October 15th, 2020.
FrameCo was established in Inglewood in 1994 (27 years), The Edge Gallery in Canmore est. 2008 and The Edge Gallery Calgary est. 2015.
We have been committed to presenting work by senior, mid-career and emerging artists, and have always strived for gender parity. Our expertise spans from historical to contemporary works of art and includes prints, paintings, sculptures, photographs and beyond.
We are beyond happy to have been part of the vibrant art community in Calgary for the past 27 years and are grateful to all of our gallery patrons and to our artists for making our experience so fulfilling and exciting. We are ready for this next chapter and for the continued programming in our Canmore gallery.
The Edge Gallery & frame shop in Canmore will remain open!
All this said, please join us for “The Last Picture Show” as we cap off our time in Calgary in style with our final exhibition. This one is not to be missed!!
