Opening Reception: May 9th, 6–11pm
Join us for a hybrid in-person and interactive virtual exhibition of work by our 2024 graduates.
Among the works of art that will be on display from graduating students is Sonic Portals: QRV by Anishinaabe Red River Métis artist Zoë Laycock. The multi-sensory display features a six-foot-tall Indigenous-inspired structure and hanging sculptures made from sticks and cedar boughs dipped in beeswax. Emanating from the structure is a collection of sounds recorded by the artist from haunted places – combining the artist’s interest in the paranormal with her Saulteaux heritage.
Another student, Will Price, will present his work titled ineluctable modality of the visible, which features a mix of monotype and stone lithography. Price uses diverse printmaking techniques to capture and convey fleeting, emotionally complex, and often elusive moments and memories.
As part of the online showcase, design student Cailine Keirstead will present a case study on the FLUI (For the Love of User Interface) Design Hackathon that she co-founded and for which she designed the branding, logo and website.
