Boîte Lumineuse - Jardin des Sculptures

Pour ce projet, je vais créer un collage numérique qui combine la photographie, l'esquisse et des éléments mixtes pour former un paysage réimaginé du boulevard Provencher. En tant qu'artiste immigrée nouvellement arrivée et personne de couleur, je vois cet espace à travers une lentille unique, façonnée par l'expérience personnelle, la perspective culturelle et un sentiment à la fois d'appartenance et de transformation.

L'œuvre commence par une documentation photographique du boulevard Provencher, capturant son architecture, ses rues et sa vie quotidienne. Je photographierai également certaines des personnes qui habitent ou traversent cet espace : résidents, travailleurs, visiteurs, représentant la communauté diversifiée qui interagit avec ce boulevard historique. Ces images seront ensuite superposées à des croquis dessinés à la main et à des éléments abstraits, créant ainsi une fusion de perspectives réelles et imaginaires. La composition finale mélange les textures, les perspectives et les médiums, symbolisant la relation évolutive entre l'espace et l'identité.

Ce paysage basé sur le collage mettra en évidence l'intersection du passé et du présent, de la permanence et du changement. Il reflétera non seulement les caractéristiques physiques du boulevard Provencher, mais aussi sa signification émotionnelle et culturelle. L'œuvre aborde les thèmes de la migration, de l'adaptation et de la visibilité, soulignant la façon dont le paysage urbain est façonné par ceux qui le traversent. Exposée dans la Boîte Lumineuse, cette œuvre interagit directement avec le public, offrant une vision stratifiée et poétique d'un lieu vu à travers les yeux de quelqu'un qui est à la fois un observateur et un participant à son récit en cours.

Light Box - Sculpture Garden

For this project, I will create a digital collage that combines photography, sketching, and mixed-media elements to form a reimagined landscape of Provencher Boulevard. As a newcomer immigrant woman artist and a person of color, I see this space through a unique lens, one shaped by personal experience, cultural perspective, and a sense of both belonging and transformation.

The artwork will start with photographic documentation of Provencher Boulevard, capturing its architecture, streets, and everyday life. I will also photograph some of the people who inhabit or pass through this space: residents, workers, visitors, representing the diverse community that interacts with this historic boulevard. These images will then be layered with hand-drawn sketches and abstract elements, creating a fusion of real and imagined perspectives. The final composition will blend textures, perspectives, and mediums, symbolizing the evolving relationship between space and identity.

This collage-based landscape will highlight the intersection of past and present, permanence and change. It will reflect not just the physical characteristics of Provencher Boulevard but also its emotional and cultural significance. The work will engage with themes of migration, adaptation, and visibility, emphasizing how the cityscape is shaped by those who move through it. Displayed in the Boîte Lumineuse, this piece will interact directly with the public, offering a layered, poetic vision of a place seen through the eyes of someone who is both an observer and a participant in its ongoing narrative.
