Our 2025 Distinguished Artist Awards mark twenty years since the first were awarded to architect Douglas Cardinal and the late John Murrell (playwright, dramaturge, librettist). Since then, a total of 26 Distinguished Artists have been recognized. On October 4 2025 Her Honour Salma Lakhani, Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, will award three 2025 Distinguished Artists at a celebration in Edmonton.

The 2025 Distinguished Artist Awards will take place on Saturday, October 4, 1:00-4:00 PM at the Art Gallery of Alberta. We'll send you more details and a link to free tickets mid-August.

The 2025 Distinguished Artists will be announced in early September 2025.
