With the use of abstract figurative forms, Witzel will question and explore the symbolic representation of sacrifice, labour, and hierarchy. How does humanity (and the societies in which we live) absorb and adapt to the ramifications of poverty? The artist will utilize a series of sketches to develop large scale drawing works of bold clear lines and multi-technical improvised colouration.
The residency will begin in July and extend through Friday August 30th. A final exhibition and celebration will be on Friday August 20th, 6-10pm. Everyone is welcome.
