The chronicle of one’s life is an unfinished garden - perpetually growing, changing, evolving with each season. This stunning new collection, “Unfinished Gardens and Peculiar Scrawls,” by Canmore artist Wanda Ellerbeck captures eight decades of living through a series of paintings that dances between reality and abstraction. This work explores unfinished gardens as a metaphor for youthful dreams and impulses, examining how life shapes our experiences and creates space to reimagine those early "gardens."

Wanda Ellerbeck is a lifetime professional artist with over 40 years as a dancer, an academic, a sculptor, and an abstract painter. She is recognized for her commitment to critical analysis on both materiality and concept in art making. You must experience it in person.
