As an extension of the current show “Floe Edge: Contemporary Art and Collaborations From Nunavut”, Urban Shaman Gallery is excited to present singer Nelson Tagoona, (Baker Lake, Nunavut) during the celebrations of Nuit Blanche on Saturday, Sept 30 at 10pm to 11pm. Don’t miss out seeing Tagoona on the rooftop of the restaurant Deer + Almond (85 Princess St, at corner of McDermot Ave. Winnipeg, MB across the street from Urban Shaman).
Nelson Tagoona, a one-of-a-kind musician best known for his inspirational messages and his unique blend of vocal percussion and traditional Inuit throat singing called "throat boxing". This powerful performance has impacted the youth and garnered Tagoona the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal.
