The Year We Disappeared
Wanda Lock - mover between painting and drawing, often combining the two mediums. While generating ideas for more complex and larger works, Lock prefers to work on a large number of drawings until some cohesive narratives start to emerge. In her statement reproduced in this catalogue, she points out that she still relies on basic principles of art making which influence how she approaches her subject matter. Lock’s works are inspired by mundane things ‘around the house’, everyday objects, interiors, landscapes, and small animals and insects.
