This exhibition features only wood: from streamlined and functional items of utility, to fine art pieces that have no other purpose than to delight. Carved wood, turned wood, handcrafted furniture, jewelry, sculpture, and some whacky musical instruments have been submitted from artists across the Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley. A collection of recent wood-fired ceramics by Maple Ridge potter, Mark Tigges, shows how wood can take on a new life and purpose even as it is committed to the flames.
