YaToMi Is a group show of three artists who met over 20 years ago at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. This show is about reconnection, reunion, resonance and art making as a practice of healing and spirituality.
The title of the show Yatomi came out of a word play by using the first two letters of the artists’ names. Yatomi is “a person who has the potential to attain spiritual enlightenment.”
Yarrow Aiko Koontz is an out-of-practice artist living on Gabriola Island. She is interested in working with textiles and found objects.

She has spent many years visiting India specifically Tibetan Refugee camps and has created works based on her responses to the Tibetan people living in exile in India as well as her relationship to the elements of water and fire.
