The tenth annual FLASH Photographic Festival will take place April 1 to 30, 2025 at 55 venues across Manitoba.
The most ambitious FLASH festival to date, this year’s event will feature exhibitions, workshops, film screenings, photo walks and more. A full list can be found here.
“This is Manitoba’s largest celebration of photography and an amazing opportunity to experience the incredible work of photographers from across the province,” says Dr. Stephen Borys, the Winnipeg Art Gallery-Qaumajuq’s Director and CEO.
Thirteen rural and northern galleries will participate, alongside 22 art galleries in Winnipeg and an additional 20 non-traditional venues including bars, restaurants and cafes.
“The FLASH Photographic Festival celebrates photography as an important medium in contemporary artistic expression,” says curator Leona Herzog.
“The camera and its output have become an indispensable part of contemporary life, influencing how we perceive and interact with the world, and create change through art.” ■
