The second annual Canadian Art Hop is coming up across the country, May 1 to 4, 2025.
More than 90 art spaces from coast to coast will participate this year, with special events, programming, talks and more. Commercial galleries, museums, artist studios and artist-run centres are all participating. Click here for a full list of participants.
New spaces include Gage Gallery in Victoria, BC; Inter/Access in Toronto, Gallery 101; Galerie Jean Claude Bergeron in Ottawa; and Montreal’s PHI Foundation for Contemporary Art.
Also new this year: Art zones in Hamilton and Simcoe, Ont., as well as Charlottetown, PEI.
“The Canadian Art Hop weekend is a great opportunity to celebrate the rich cultural tapestry of Canada,” reads the news release.
“Whether it’s contemporary galleries, local artist studios, historical landmarks, or community-driven art spaces, the event provides a platform for artists of all disciplines and backgrounds to showcase their work.”
The Canadian Art Hop was created by the Art Dealers Association of Canada (ADAC), a national not-for-profit organization representing commercial galleries across Canada. “With a mission to promote the dissemination and appreciation of Canadian art both nationally and internationally, ADAC serves as an advocate for the visual arts community, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence in artistic practice,” according to the ADAC website. ■
The Canadian Art Hop takes place across Canada, May 1 to 4, 2025.
