The Prairie Art Network Institute will take place June 25 to 27, 2025, at the Alberta University of the Arts in Calgary.
Organized by the Prairie Art Network in Lethbridge, which aims to bring together Canadian Prairie-based arts and cultural professionals, visual arts educators, artists and students, the 2025 Prairie Art Network Institute will provide "a platform for exchanging pedagogical, curatorial, and research strategies that respond to the transformations specific to the Prairie context while also highlighting the art and culture emerging from local communities."
Sessions include:
- Creative Visions of the Land
- Teaching Art History in the Prairies
- Curating and Communities in the Prairies
- Crafting the Prairie: Expanding Possibilities
- Artists, Transformation, and Change in Prairie Environments Since 2000
- DIY Spaces and Artist-Run Centres in Calgary since the 1970s
- Relationship and Mentorship Building in Public Art with Indigenous Artists
The keynote speaker will be announced in early June 2025.
