
The Alberta Foundation for the Arts 2025-2026 budget has been increased by $4.5 million (15 per cent), according to the new Government of Alberta 2025 budget.
It marks the second year that AFA funding has been increased; the long-term plan, according to the Alberta government, is to build on work started in 2024, to increase AFA funding to close to $40 million in total by 2026.
“As of December 31, 2024, the AFA has provided 726 grants totalling approximately $21.2 million – nearly a 40 per cent increase in the number of grants at this time in 2023,” according to the news release.
