CICA Vancouver X Jelina Couture Award Winners Named

The winners of the CICA Vancouver X Jelina Couture International Art Awards have been announced.

Cara Guri is the winner of the Beacon Award, which comes with a $5,000 cash award. 

Mohadese Movahed is the recipient of the Rising Star Award and will receive $3,000.

Sara Saadatfard has been presented with the $1,000 People’s Choice Award. 

Award winners will also be featured in a CICA Vancouver group exhibition and will be invited to participate in CICA Vancouver’s 2026 residency program in 2026 as well as future shows.

This year’s jurors include Alex Gartenfeld, the Irma & Norman Braman Artistic Director at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Miami; Xu Ning, Culture and Arts Department chief planner for Harper’s Bazaar magazine; Sho Sho Esquiro, an interdisciplinary artist and curator; and Viahsta Yuan, CICA Vancouver chief curator.
