Dawit L. Petros has been named as the winner of the 15th annual Scotiabank Photography Award.
He will receive $50,000, plus a solo exhibition at The Image Centre. Renowned art book publisher Steidl will also publish a book of his work and distribute it globally.
The award was co-founded by Scotiabank and Canadian photographer Edward Burtynsky “with a goal of recognizing and accelerating artists' careers as they reach the next level of national and international recognition,” according to the news release.
