Gordon Boyd has been named winner of the 2025 RBC Award for Glass.
As his prize, he will receive $10,000 to support the next phase of his career development.
Born in northern Manitoba, Boyd has been working with glass for more than 10 years. He holds a bachelor's degree in Craft and Design from Sheridan College.
Runner-up Nadira Narine, who is from Toronto, will receive $5,000.
And each finalist — Montreal's Samwell Guertin; Em McDonald from Oakville, Ont; and Montreal's Jérémie St-Onge — will each receive $1,000 to further their practice.
The awards will be presented on Sept. 28, 2025.
This year's awards were juried by Benjamin Kikkert, Cheryl Wilson-Smith, and Franklin Silverstone.
The only national award for emerging glass artists in Canada, the RBC Award is presented through a partnership with the RBC Foundation and recognizes the best and brightest upcoming Canadian glass artists.
This fall, the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery will feature the winner and finalists in an exhibition.
