The Winnipeg Arts Council Awards were held last week in Winnipeg, Man., and Winnipeg-based Anishinaabe artist and curator Jaimie Isaac has been presented with this year's Making a Difference Award.
The award is given in recognition of contributions of an artist or arts administrator to the Winnipeg's arts scene's growth and development.
Isaac holds a master's degree from the University of British Columbia and a bachelor of arts in art history, as well as an Arts and Cultural Management Certificate from the University of Winnipeg. She is also a founding member of The Ephemerals Collective, an all-female Indigenous arts collective.

“Each year the Winnipeg Arts Council Awards honour individuals and organizations for their contributions as artists, supporters and community builders,” according to the news release.
“Since 2007, the event has heralded the arrival of summer for Winnipeg’s arts community and honoured over 80 award recipients to date.”
