The Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies in Banff has increased funding for its 2025-2026 Lillian Agnes Jones Scholarship to $25,000 from $6,000 in 2024.
“Additionally, the application process now accommodates both academic and creative streams, making it more accessible and encouraging diverse research proposals,” according to the news release. “This prestigious scholarship supports research and creative projects that explore the history and culture of Western Canada.”
The deadline for applications is March 31, 2025.
The scholarship has supported research focused on Western Canadian environmental and cultural history. It was established by the estate of Lillian Agnes Jones, a cousin of The Whyte’s co-founder Peter Whyte.
