Thirteen artists have been named to the 2025 Yukon Prize for Visual Arts longlist.
The list includes: Michel Gignac, Jane Isakson, Megan (Guná) Jensen, Jeffrey Langille, Matthew Lien, Joyce Majiski, Meshell Melvin, Randi Nelson, Jeneen Frei Njootli, Helen O’Connor, Aubyn O’Grady, Jackie Olson, and Omar Reyna.
Six finalists from this list will be named on March 31. In addition to the top prize of $20,000, each of the five finalists will receive $3,000.
The jury, which included Jean-François Bélisle, Sarah Moore Fillmore, and Dr. Heather Igloliorte, chose the longlisted artists from 60 applicants.
The prize is awarded every two years. It was created to bring the Yukon’s visual arts community to a wider audience across Canada and internationally, and to encourage Yukon artists to reach their full potential.
