The Leighton Art Centre connects visitors to art, history, and landscape. Located just outside Calgary, overlooking the Alberta Foothills and Rocky Mountains, the LAC offers year-round arts programming that inspires exploration, appreciation, and creativity. The Leighton Art Centre was the home of artists A.C. and Barbara Leighton and was designated an Alberta Historic Resource in 2009. When I spotted the blue Mini, its tail pointed artfully to the sky in the rolling hills southwest of Calgary, I thought it might be the calling card for the Leighton Art Centre. But the car was not an art installation.
