Amelia’s work embraces elements of both magic and symbolic realism. Her first collection, Opener, explored dream-like and romantic themes. Her last show The Art of Staying Afloat, examined the concepts of balance, both personal and symbiotic.
Water Born explores the longing of all parts to reunite with the whole. And the concepts of origin, identity, ancestry and rebirth, both personal and ecological. Alcock-White found that water, through its holographic nature, provided a unique metaphor for her quest into the mysteries of biological and spiritual life.
